Mixed bag
December 7, 2007 at 9:02 pm | In Work | 2 CommentsAt the beginning of the week I talked about a truely sad event, the unexpected death of a young man. Geepeemum left a comment about unexpected deaths in young men who have epilepsy, and she was right, as that is what the postmortem decided. This has helped my friend as she is no longer torturing herself with the ‘what ifs?’, and is now just moving from moment to moment remembering her son, regreting lost chances of spending more time together but cherishing, fervently cherishing those times they did have together.
Next week is going to be really busy. Monday, shopping for those pressies I can’t organise on-line. Tuesday, work. Wednesday, girlie lunch. Whoops, nearly forgot, it’s Hubby’s birthday as well so that will be a meal out in the evening. Thursday, the funeral, a nativity play ( Amy is an angel ) and then one of my surgery’s Christmas do’s in the evening. Friday, work. Saturday, Christmas Tree Day and then Sunday, family meal in honour of Hubby’s birthday.
Talking of Christmas, this is what I want. I have dropped countless hints to Hubby, and still he hasn’t caught on. The children all know, but I have told them not to tell their Dad. Why? Well, if he doesn’t catch on then I will get a pressie anyway, and will then just buy myself one. Cheeky, yes, it is but there is a really good reason why I want one. I’m going into hospital for an operation, when I’m summoned, nothing serious but I will be immobile for a few weeks afterwards and I think that this little gadget will be just the thing to keep me occupied.
Work is a bit quieter this week, so much so that I am managing to keep up with all the paperwork by just spending an hour or so in the evenings. It is aways slightly worrying though when things calm down as those heavily pregnant women have got to have their babies some time soon.
